the Dispatch article review.

“37th Annual Pecan Street Festival”
This article was about the festival that is held on Pecan street biannually. The festival goes along with the Austin motto-  Keep Austin weird! It celebrates Austin’s uniqueness and the beautification of its heritage. The festival is a non profit event and donates all of the money that they got to nonprofit foundations. The Pecan street festival is known for the art, entertainment, food, and handicrafts that tell a beautiful story of the history of Austin.

“Colleges Committing Underclassmen”

This article was about colleges “verbally committing” freshman and sophomores to go to their schools. The problem with doing that is what If the coach moves, they find a better player, or the coach retires. This can affect the student’s plans of what will happen when they get older and where they actually end up going to college. Now, if you want to get a full commitment, you would need a National letter of intent. This letter can tell other colleges to maybe start investing in the student instead of the student getting stranded with no school to go to.
