SCHOOL CAFETERIA
*Improvisation encouraged!

NICHOLAS (Elijah)
NARRATOR (Ethan)
JOHNNY (Reagan)
TONYA (Haley)
STACY (Erin)

THE SCENE STARTS AT AN OPENING SHOT OF A TABLE. EVERYONE IS GATHERED AROUND THE TABLE ENJOYING THEIR LUNCH. NICHOLAS IS IN THE CENTER OF THE TABLE EATING SOUP.

NARRATOR
Here we have NICHOLAS enjoying some home made soup.
He takes a sip.

NICHOLAS
WHO IS THAT?

NARRATOR
He stops. He looks around.

NICHOLAS (to JOHNNY)
Do you hear that?

JOHNNY
Hear what?

NICHOLAS
That voice!

JOHNNY
I don’t hear any voice.

NARRATOR
Poor NICHOLAS is confused. As he is the only one that can hear me.

TONYA
There’s a lot of people talking in the lunch room.
(NICHOLAS’ Face becomes worried)

NARRATOR
He becomes wary of my presence!

NICHOLAS (to STACY)
Ok surely you can hear this

STACY
Are you okay?

TONYA
What’s going on with you?

NICHOLAS
Nothing! Can’t you hear that voice?

NARRATOR
Alas he has finally given into my ploy to corrupt his mind and infatuate the desire to be alone from the rest. He is alone. The rest of his mental state is holding on by a slight thread. His brain is but a grain of sand washed up on the shore by a sea of lava that is me. Attacking the one and only thing that keeps him sane. His intellect.

(Scene cuts to lunch with loud noises in background, NICHOLAS is freaking out while the others around him are eating lunch and enjoying their food like normal.)

(Scene cuts back to the NARRATOR talking to NICHOLAS)
NARRATOR
The main goal is to eliminate and terminate his remaining mind. I WILL CONQUER AND DESTROY EVERY LAST BIT OF HIM UNTIL HE IS NOTHING BUT MUSH.

NICHOLAS
I don’t feel so good.

(NICHOLAS passes out on the table, scene cuts to normal lunch with loud noises and such.)

JOHNNY (to passed out NICHOLAS)
Hey are you gonna eat that pizza?

(Silence)

JOHNNY
(He reaches to grab the slice of pizza and eat it)
Guess not.

(He eats the pizza slice)

TANYA (to STACY and JOHNNY)
Hey do you you guys want to go get some water?

STACY
Sure!

JOHNNY
I’m down.

(They grab their backpacks and get up and leave.)

(NICHOLAS is still there with his head on the table. The scene cuts the NICHOLAS waking up in a mysterious area. No one is around.)

NICHOLAS
Where am I?

NARRATOR (In physical form)
And so he awakes from his slumber. 12 Thousand years later in another time, another dimension. All his friends and loved ones dead, they are far long gone. Just a blank memory, a memory from the past. Or at least what’s left of the past. Now he spends eternity alone, with nothing but his thoughts. And a voice to keep him company.

NICHOLAS
Yeah I think I’ll just go back to sleep.

Hard news.

STORY ONE
According to California Highway Patrol, Janice Jones, a 53 year old woman, lives in California with her dog, Tombo. Officer Tammy Rye said that Janice’s dog knocked a 9mm gun off of a seat, which ended up shooting Janice in the leg. This incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Wednesday night, while she was eating pork chops, in her motorhome. Although she got shot, Jones could be considered very lucky. “It could have been worse,” Rye said. “The bullet hit two inches from the gas tank.” Later an ambulance transported her to Huntington Beach Hospital where after that she was transported to Irvine Medical Center. The hospital treated her injuries and they gave no further information about Ms. Jones. While she was being treated, Tombo, the pomeranian was cared for by the Huntington Beach Animal Control officers. Janet Ngo, animal control officer, said that Tombo was a nit malnourished and had cigarette burns on his forehead, which brought up the concern of animal abuse and she indicated that the office would think about pressing animal abuse charges against Janice. “It could have done with a little less abuse and a few more of those pork chops,” Ngo said. Jones wasn’t just in trouble for animal abuse but she was later found with an expired plate and the county’s district attorney’s office was thinking about charging her for the accident or not, as Jones didn't even have a permit for the gun.

STORY TWO
Yesterday an earthquake struck the area by San Francisco bay, around 8:12 am PDT. Within a matter of four minutes, twelve policemen, 21 firefighters, and five American Red Cross personnel arrived to the scene to aid the victims. The earthquake specifically took place around the Hayward fault, which runs under the Hayward Hills. The names of the peopole who unfortunatly died in the earthquake are doing their best to reach out to the victim´s families. .One building housing McHenry's Auto Supply at 2342 Plum street collapsed while taking the lives of two people, while injuring 6 others. Out of those six people, three were hurt seriously enough to be brought to Hayward General Hospital. Mike Beamer, a Hayward resident lives across the street and was eating breakfast when he felt a rolling motion. ''I dove under the table just as I heard an explosion outside and a chunk of cement flew through my kitchen window. That’s when the screaming start across the street.” He also told us that he ¨Felt a rolling motion that lasted about thirty seconds¨ Beamer says. He then goes on to talk about the big jolt he experienced and what he did when he felt it. “I was eating my breakfast when the room started rolling. I dove under the table just as I heard an explosion outside and a chunk of cement flew through my kitchen window. That’s when the screaming start across the street.” Beamer tells us. The firefighters soon stabilized the building that collapsed so they could search the building and cap a gas line, that leaked when the earthquake hit. The earthquake was a 6.4 magnitude, according to the Ritcher scale. Penny Gertz is a scientist from a geological survey in menlo park that considered this quake a "strong one". The earthquake was said to be apart of the Hayward Fault, which runs under the hills of Hayward.
